Columbia Funds Discontinue Sales of Class B Shares
Columbia Management has announced that Columbia Funds will discontinue sales of Class B shares, with the exceptions of reinvested distributions in Class B shares of the same fund and exchanges from existing Class B investors, effective June 22, 2009. No new investments may be made in Class B shares after the close of business June 19, 2009.
Even though the funds are discontinuing sales of Class B shares, you may retain your existing Class B shares, which will automatically convert to Class A shares eight years after purchase. Additional purchase requests for a fund’s Class B shares by an existing Class B shareholder, received directly by Columbia Management Services, Inc., the funds’ transfer agent, including purchase requests through automatic investment or payroll deduction plans, will instead be treated as a purchase request for Class A shares of the same fund. Such additional purchases will be made without regard to the Class A share investment minimums but will be subject to the applicable Class A sales charge. Breakpoint discounts and rights of accumulation applicable to Class A share purchases will apply as outlined in each fund’s prospectus.

While additional purchases are allowed as described above, please note that initial purchase requests (other than through a qualifying exchange transaction) for a fund’s Class B shares will be rejected.
