Re-registration required for continued secure account access

Columbia Management has introduced new website features and security enhancements that require re-registration beginning November 6, 2011. These changes help ensure your information remains safe and secure and will improve your experience on columbiamanagement.com. We appreciate your time and attention to this matter.

What you need to begin

  • Investors need a fund and account number to re-register. These numbers can be found on quarterly statements.
  • Financial professionals need a CRD number or Access Key for re-registration.

Action to take beginning November 6, 2011

  1. Re-register for access to your Columbia Management account or secure site. Your previous username and password will no longer work. During registration, you will select a new user ID and password and choose a validation question to answer.

    Re-register now
  2. Enroll in expanded eDelivery for investors (optional)

During the registration process, you may enroll in the expanded eDelivery service, which now includes quarterly statements in addition to annual and semiannual reports, prospectuses and supplements. If you choose to enroll in eDelivery, you will receive email notifications with a link to the electronic copy of your compliance documents.

IMPORTANT: If you are already receiving electronic documents, you’ll need to re-agree to the terms of agreement and verify your email address in order to receive electronic documents going forward.
  3. Update your costing method (optional)

For non-retirement mutual fund shares purchased and subsequently redeemed after January 1, 2012, Columbia Management will now be required to report the cost-basis to both you and the IRS. Columbia Management will use “Average cost” as the default method, however you will have the option to select a different cost method.

To change your method after you re-register, choose the “Select an Action” drop-down box next to your account and select “Update Mandatory Cost Basis.” Before changing your method, we encourage you to contact your tax advisor, talk to your financial advisor, read about Cost basis Q&A or contact us at 800.345.6611.
  4. Update aggregator websites or software programs

After you re-register for the Columbia Management website, remember to update any financial aggregator websites or tax programs that utilize data from your Columbia Management accounts (such as Mint.com or TurboTax) with your new login credentials.

New features after re-registration

  • Online password reset. In the event you forget your password after re-registration, you may reset your password online using the validation question and answer you created.
  • Improved website navigation. Your secure information has been re-integrated into the Columbia Management website through the Account Access section. After you log in, you may browse Columbia Management products and information without leaving the site or signing out.
  • Account security enhancements. New security procedures have been incorporated into the account login process to ensure your information remains safe and secure.
  • Expanded electronic delivery. Our eDelivery service has been expanded to include quarterly statements, in addition to annual and semiannual reports, prospectuses and supplements.
  • New cost-basis capabilities. To comply with new mandatory cost-basis reporting requirements for non-retirement mutual fund shares purchased and subsequently redeemed beginning January 1, 2012, you can now choose your preferred costing method. Cost basis Q&A
